FAQ

Questions we hear a lot.

Who is SushiSend for?
Developers, SaaS founders, agencies, and marketing teams who want one platform for both transactional and marketing email. If you currently juggle a transactional API plus a separate marketing tool, or are eyeing a heavyweight lifecycle product but dreading the price tag, you're our target user.
How is this different from Resend?
Resend is a great transactional API. SushiSend does everything Resend does and adds marketing campaigns, automation workflows, built-in deliverability monitoring, automatic domain setup, cost caps, and a top-up balance so pay-as-you-go actually works.
What plans do you offer?
Free ($0/mo, 50 emails/day, includes a "Powered by SushiSend" footer, Community support), Pay as you go ($0.30 per 1,000 emails, no monthly fee, top-up your balance and send when you need to), Pro ($29/mo, 50,000 emails included, $0.30 per 1,000 overage, 5 domains, 24-hour support SLA), and Scale ($199/mo, 500,000 emails included, $0.25 per 1,000 overage, unlimited domains, 3-hour support SLA).
What happens if I send more than my plan includes?
Overage sends are billed from your top-up balance at $0.30 per 1,000 (Pro, PAYG) or $0.25 per 1,000 (Scale). You can set a hard cap so sending stops once overage would exceed a limit, or turn off overage entirely and we'll refuse sends past your included volume.
How does the top-up balance work?
Prepay any amount, balance never expires. Turn on auto-reload to top up automatically when you dip below a threshold. Cost-control toggles let you set hard spending caps so you can't be surprised by a bill.
Can I add more than one sending domain?
Yes. Pay as you go and Pro include 1 and 5 domains respectively, with extra domains at $4.99/mo each. Scale includes unlimited domains. Free is capped at 1 domain.
Do you offer a free tier?
50 emails per day (roughly 1,500/mo), one sending domain, full transactional API, and a "Powered by SushiSend" footer — forever, no credit card. Upgrading to any paid plan removes the footer immediately.
Which DNS providers are supported for automatic setup?
When your domain's DNS is on Cloudflare we publish DKIM, SPF, and MAIL FROM records for you after a one-click authorization. For every other DNS provider we generate the exact records to copy-paste and verify in the dashboard in under a minute. Route 53, Namecheap, and GoDaddy direct automation are on the roadmap.
Can I add Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or Meta Pixel?
Yes. Workspace settings → Analytics lets you paste your GA4 Measurement ID, GTM container ID, and Meta Pixel ID. We inject them into hosted pages (like the unsubscribe page), optionally embed tracking pixels in outbound HTML emails, and auto-append UTM parameters to every link so your existing GA dashboards light up without any work on your end.
What is SushiQ?
SushiQ is our AI co-pilot add-on ($15/mo, works with any plan). It reviews every outgoing email for clarity and deliverability, analyzes your sending stats and domain health, benchmarks you against your industry, and recommends specific improvements. Think of it as a senior deliverability consultant sitting next to every send.
Can I use a dedicated IP?
Yes — available as a $79/month add-on on Pro and Scale. We handle warmup and pool management automatically.
What about two-factor auth and email verification?
Every signup verifies the email before the dashboard unlocks. Two-factor auth is optional for 14 days after signup and required after that. Owners and admins must enable 2FA immediately. Recovery codes are generated at enrollment.
Is my data private?
Yes. We don't train general-purpose models on your emails. Your contacts, content, and logs are isolated to your workspace. Workspace owners can opt out of all training usage; see our Ethical AI Promise for details. We're GDPR-ready with data export and deletion endpoints.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, monthly plans cancel instantly. No contracts, no ghost seats, no re-activation fees. Your data remains accessible for 30 days after cancellation.
Is SushiSend open source?
The SDKs, the WordPress plugin, and several core packages are open source on GitHub. The dashboard and sending infrastructure are proprietary — but the platform is built on open standards so you can migrate out if you ever need to.
